Our Story
The Porter Relief Foundation was created from a place of compassion, faith, and a deep commitment to serving those in need. We support vulnerable individuals and families across Pennsylvania, Jamaica, the Caribbean, and communities worldwide meeting them in moments of crisis and standing with them as they rebuild.
The inspiration for the Foundation deepened in the wake of Hurricane Melissa, when communities across Jamaica, including Lambs River the hometown of the Porter family faced overwhelming devastation. Families lost their homes, livelihoods, and sense of stability. Out of that pain emerged purpose: a determination to be a consistent source of hope and help for those suffering from natural disasters, poverty, displacement, and other hardships.
Today, the Porter Relief Foundation stands as a bridge between the Jamaican diaspora and communities in need, uniting people through empathy, generosity, and faith. Through local and international partnerships, we provide emergency relief aid, access to healthcare and education, community rebuilding projects, and empowerment initiatives that help individuals move from survival to self-sufficiency.
Today, the founder’s vision lives on through every life touched by this organization’s work—but the mission cannot continue without support. The needs are great, and the challenges faced by families recovering from disaster are ongoing. About Founder
Where It Began
Born and raised in the beautiful community of Lambs River, Westmoreland, Jamaica. She moved to the USA as a child and through hardwork and consistency established a career for her self in the medical field. Always being a compassionate individual she has always been eager to help those in need going far back as a teenager she would cook meals regularly and distribute to the homeless, Volunteer and participate in outreaches and always leave a positive memory with everyone she crossed parts with.
The vision for the foundation came after an unprecedented Hurricane Swept through her home country of Jamaica leaving a trail of destruction and grieve behind.Witnessing firsthand the devastating impact of natural disasters on vulnerable families inspired the founder to take action not just in moments of crisis, but for long-term recovery and hope.The Porter Relief Foundation, created in memory of her late father to bring hope and help to families in need. Pioneering this movement she has since invested heavily in relief and aid efforts to Jamaica and has since visited often handing out aid, relief packages, Rebuilding infrastructure and fostering hope.
With a strong belief that every person deserves dignity, safety, and opportunity, the founder created this organization to provide essential support such as food, shelter, education, and emotional care to those in need. What began as a response to urgent humanitarian need has grown into a mission rooted in compassion, resilience, and collective responsibility.
Guided by empathy and integrity, the founder continues to lead with purpose—building partnerships, empowering communities, and ensuring that help reaches those who need it most. This organization stands as a testament to the belief that one individual’s vision, when paired with action, can change countless lives.
